Weekly Meals and Workouts 1/5

Hi Friends!

I’m back with the first plan of the year!! 

I’ve decided to change this up a bit – New year, new beginnings right? .. or something like that ;)

My meal planning and prepping plans will remain the same; however, I want to switch up the workouts section a bit – instead of listing what I “plan” to do, I want to start listing what I did in the past week and a “rough” plan of what will happen in the next week :) – I’d rather show what I did than show what I “might” do (I do get in all my workouts every week, but there are times I may modify or switch things up .. I am human after all – I just want to stay honest with all of you :) )

So let’s get to it!

Meal Plan

Sunday: Pork Tenderloin with Honey mustard, roasted veggies and potatoes

Monday: Salmon with Mango Salsa, quinoa, and escarole
Tuesday: Mitch b-day dinner
Wednesday: Taco salads with fish or meat (depends what we’re feeling)
Thursday: Chicken and black bean quesadillas
Friday-Satruday: wing it/out to dinner

Prep Ahead

- roast veggies
- make quinoa for tomorrow and Nutty Protein Bars
- make trail mix baggies
- poach chicken

Workouts

Starting with the new format, here’s what I did last week ;)

Sunday: Yoga
Monday: 30 minutes elliptical, chest/arms workout with a friend
Tuesday: 5 mile tempo run @ 8:06, leg workout with Jess
Wednesday: 30 minutes elliptical, 15 minutes bike, 15 minutes core work and stretching
Thursday: 6 mile run
Friday: OFF
Saturday: back/shoulder workout, 2 mile run

The plan:

This is the official kick-off for training for me! I’m still working on finalizing the last bit of my spring schedule so I’ll share it with you all soon :)

Sunday: 6 miles and yoga this morning .. check! (did it his morning ;) )
Monday: 5 mile tempo or speed work, leg workout with a friend, dance class
Tuesday: 30 minutes easy bike, upper body strength workout with Jess, yoga in the evening (maybe)
Wednesday: 6 miles hills, yoga, double dance lesson
Thursday: Teach spin, upper body strength workout with a friend
Friday: 8 miles, 15 minutes core work
Saturday: yoga, stretching, foam rolling

Question:

Do you always stick to your workout plan? When you stray from it, what’s the main reason?
I pretty much follow mine to a T, but there are those days that just throw you for a loop! We all have them ;)
If I stray from the plan, it’s most likely due to being very sore and needing a rest!
